SUMMARY:Against the Stream: Paul's Missionary Gospel for Hard Times
DESCRIPTION:Faith Lutheran Church in Rogue River\, Oregon\, will host a continuing education class on Aug. 18-20\, titled “Against the Stream: Paul’s Missionary Gospel for Hard Times.” It will be taught by Rev. Dr. Adam Koontz. Register today before spots fill up! \nDetails: How did the early church expand from the small region of Judea into the whole Roman Empire? Paul’s letters provide a snapshot of the hard work he did to build and preserve churches. The letters also give us a blueprint for building and preserving the church in our times\, come what may. This course will look at Paul’s methods of discipling\, preaching\, planting\, giving\, and encouraging\, to see better how the church can be built up\, not torn down\, in our days.

SUMMARY:2026 NOW District Educators Conference
DESCRIPTION:The 2026 NOW District Educators Conference is scheduled for Oct. 21-23 at the Seaside Civic & Convention Center in Seaside\, Oregon. The theme of this year’s conference is: “One in Christ; United in Mission.” Registration opens Aug. 1! \nClick here for the Education Conference Schedule. \nClick here for the Leadership Seminar Schedule. \nKeynote Speakers (alphabetically by last name): \nRachel Giannini — Keynote: Just. In this engaging and reflective workshop\, participants are invited to rethink the language they use to describe their role. In the life of a child and their family\, you are never just one thing — you are everything. Together\, we’ll explore how everyday moments\, often overlooked or minimized\, are actually filled with meaning\, connection\, and opportunity. Through guided reflection\, discussion\, and real-world examples\, educators will unpack the depth and impact of the work they do each day. This workshop creates space to recognize the magic in the mundane\, helping participants reframe routine interactions as powerful teachable moments. \nKim Marxhausen — Keynote: Even So I am Sending You: Equipped with the Faith. God sends us to ministry\, but He does not send us unequipped. When we teach the faith\, we go beyond nurturing a child of God. Teaching the faith promotes a healthy mindset\, fosters emotional regulation\, and prepares the mind to learn.
