SUMMARY:"I Don't Have Enough Faith to be an Atheist"
DESCRIPTION:This FREE event is being created and sponsored by Prince of Peace Lutheran Church (LCMS) in west Portland in response to a growing concern of\, at best\, misunderstanding and\, at worst\, antagonism among an increasing number of people in our Portland area communities about the truth of who God is and what He is doing in the world. We want to provide an opportunity for those with questions to hear first-hand the compelling evidence for the truth of the Bible\, and the reality of God’s power and presence in our lives. Sonrise Church has agreed to partner with us in this event for the sake of the Gospel\, and to provide a venue with enough seating to accommodate the expected attendance. \nOver the last fifty years there has been a precipitous drop in the percentage of Christians in the United States. In the 1970’s the Christian population was approximately 90%. As of 2024 only 64% of Americans now self-identify as Christian\, and Pew Research Center predicts that number could fall below 50% in the next few decades. According to a recent survey\, approximately half of the people living in the Pacific Northwest say religion is not important to them. \nFor Christians\, the presentation will provide practical tools to logically articulate the rational arguments for God and a life in Christ. For non-Christians\, the goal is to place a “pebble in the shoe” by pointing out the deficiency of misleading world views\, which may lead to deeper exploration and further study regarding the truth of the Bible\, and ultimately to a relationship with Christ. We hope to draw participation from the Christian community in the entire Portland metro region\, and ideally also expose a multitude of non-believers to Christianity. \nVisit this Event Post\nhttps://princeofpeacelc.org/events/dr-frank-turek-free-apologetics-event/ \nDownload the PDF Story\n2024-10-20 I Don’t Have Enough Faith to be an Atheist \n30 Second Video Promo\nClick here for a 30 second promo of this event

SUMMARY:KINDLE Healthy Leader Webinar: 'Put Your Mask on First'
DESCRIPTION:When the flight attendant gives instructions before takeoff\, one of the scripted pieces we always hear is: “Put your mask on first\, before helping others.” We tend to be so busy serving others that we often neglect taking care of ourselves. \nYou are invited to a free webinar on Monday\, Nov. 11\, from 5-6 p.m. PDT (7-8 p.m. CDT) where we will focus on what it means to set the example and be a healthy leader that multiplies healthy leaders\, led by KINDLE friend and Iowa District West staffer\, Rhonda Mohr. This is a great opportunity for staff/teams to participate together at church or from the convenience of your own home. We are a continuous work in progress as we respond to God’s great love for us in Christ Jesus. Let’s gather with that grace in mind as we seek to be more Christ-like. \nClick here to register! \nYou must register to attend live and/or receive the recording to watch later. Reach out to Emily Phoenix if you have questions. \nFounded in 2000\, the Karpenko Institute for Nurturing and Developing Leadership Excellence provides processes designed to enhance the Christ-like servant leadership of second chair ministry leaders at several levels of experience within a congregation. The goal of KINDLE webinars: “For all second chair ministry leaders to grow in wisdom and learn tools/resources that can be used to foster and multiply Christ-like servant leaders in the home\, workplace\, community and world.” Learn more at www.kindlservantleaders.org.
