SUMMARY:Emmaus Summer Conference: Sons\, Not Slaves
DESCRIPTION:Emmaus Lutheran Church is hosting its second Summer Conference on Saturday\, June 13. Pastor Stephen Preus will be speaking to us about the fear of God\, a topic that comes up repeatedly in the Scriptures. Lutheran theology traditionally distinguishes between the fear of God in His sons and heirs\, and the fear of God inspired by the Law of God in those who remain God’s enemies. Learn what the Psalmist means when he writes: “The fear of the Lord is clean\, enduring forever.” (Psalm 19:9) Click here for complete details and a schedule.  \nYou are also invited to gather on Friday to hike the trails at Smith Rock north of Redmond and enjoy a barbecue at the church in the evening afterward. \nSpace is limited\, so please RSVP by emailing Pastor Karl Hess or by calling the Emmaus Church office and leaving a message at 541-508-1927. DESCRIPTION:Youth are invited to Vocatio: High School 2026 at Concordia Seminary June 20-26. REGISTER HERE. \nExplore God’s calling and direction for your life! This annual visitation event gives participants valuable information about formation for pastoral and diaconal ministry. During this week-long event\, you will experience the Seminary through worship\, thoughtful conversations\, recreational activities\, and sessions with professors. You’ll learn about St. Louis\, participate in a servant event\, and attend a Concordia University System college fair. \nThere is a $300 registration fee that includes housing and meals. \nRegistration closes on May 15. \nVocatio: High School is one of two visitation events for prospective students held throughout the year that provide a preview of the Seminary’s ministerial formation experience. This event is hosted by the Bay Area Lutheran Young Adults. It is for LCMS singles ages 18-40\, from anywhere in the country. \nBeing a young adult Lutheran can sometimes feel isolating. This gathering is an opportunity to build friendships with others who share your faith\, grow together in community\, and — who knows — maybe even meet your future spouse.
