SUMMARY:2026 LCMS National Convention
DESCRIPTION:Synod Presidential Vote — Runoffs Required \n6/17/26 Update:\nSynod presidential election enters third round. The second round of voting in the election for president of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) was not conclusive\, and another runoff will be required. The candidates whose names will stand in the runoff election are Matthew C. Harrison\, Joel D. Biermann\, and Benjamin T. Ball. Get more info here. \nThe third round of voting for LCMS president will take place June 20–23\, with a final round\, if necessary\, occurring June 27–30. There could be up to four total rounds of voting (extending to June 30) until a candidate receives more than 50 percent of the votes. Registered voters will use the same credentials they used to vote in the first and second rounds\, which will again be provided by email when the next round of voting has opened.  \nIf your congregation needs assistance with the voting process or is having trouble determining who your eligible voters are\, please email lcmspresidentvote@lcms.org. \n6/13/26 Update:\nThe second round of elections for LCMS President will be held June 13-16. All those eligible are encouraged to participate. Registered voters will use the same credentials they used in the first round\, which were provided by email. With just over 85% voting in the first round\, that means approximately 800 of those registered didn’t cast a ballot. Please encourage your congregation’s pastoral and lay voters to participate in the second round. \n________________________________________________________________________________ \nThe 69th Regular Convention of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod will be held July 18–23\, 2026\, in Phoenix\, Arizona. \n\nThe convention theme is “Christ Is Risen Indeed\,” based on 1 Corinthians 15:20–22: “But in fact Christ has been raised from the dead\, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep.
