From the earliest of ages, our memories begin to form by neurological processes of synaptic modification. From the earliest of ages, faith begins to form, too, by divine processes of a spiritual kind of modification as we encounter God’s Word and the Holy Spirit does his work. For this reason, the Psalmist declares in prayerful praise to God, “From my youth, you have taught me” (Psalm 71:17). The Psalmist also says, “I still proclaim your wondrous deeds. . . even to old age and gray hairs” (Psalm 71:17-18).
This month’s Six Mission Minutes tells the story of Chris (at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church in SeaTac, Washington) and Barbara (at Messiah Lutheran Church in Seattle, Washington): two faithful believers in Christ, who — to both youth and gray hairs — are telling the wondrous deeds of the salvation we have in Jesus.
