Friendship Celebration Lutheran Church in Meridian, Idaho, is seeking a passionate and skilled Director of Music to lead our worship ministry and inspire heartfelt praise. This part-time professional ministry position offers an opportunity to shape a vibrant, Christ-centered worship experience that blends beloved Lutheran hymns with contemporary music in a spirit of excellence and unity.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead Worship: Provide music for most Sunday and midweek (seasonal) services, guiding the congregation in meaningful worship.
Select Music: Choose songs that align with scripture, sermon themes, and the skill level of the worship ensemble.
Build & Nurture the Worship Team: Schedule and oversee worship and tech teams, encouraging musical growth and spiritual leadership.
Rehearse & Prepare: Conduct weekly rehearsals, distribute music arrangements, proofread slides, and lead worship team prayer before services.
Direct Seasonal Choir: Organize and lead choir performances for Christmas, Easter, and special services.
Tech & Planning: Utilize Planning Center, ProPresenter, and Canva for service planning and execution.
Worship Beyond Sundays: Provide music for weddings and funerals when available and collaborate with the Pastor on special services.
Qualifications:
Strong musical ability (vocals, keyboard/piano, or guitar)
Experience directing ensembles and/or choirs
Organizational and planning skills to coordinate worship teams
Familiarity with Lutheran theology and contemporary worship practices
Spiritual maturity and active participation in congregational worship
