I imagine you have a Christmas tree in your home this year. There is probably even one at the church you attend. Why? What do trees have to do with Christmas? What do a lot of our holiday traditions have to do with Christmas — traditions like Elf on the Shelf, for instance? There’s an unlikely tree in Luke 19 that Jesus uses to teach us about Christmas. He uses it to show people why he came. Through it, he explains why he was born.
