Helping Leaders and Ministries Accelerate Good Change Through Coaching

Looking to accelerate good change and follow-through? We got you!

There are excellent options available for NOW District ministries and leaders searching for skillful coaching during critical moments of transition and change. Our district focus is “helping leaders do their best work together,” and coaching is how we make this happen. Skilled leadership coaches are trained to listen and ask powerful questions. Rather than telling you what to do, a coach helps you focus on making good changes and getting real traction on goals that you set.

Read on to find out how the NOW District delivers focused leadership coaching through the President’s Office, Education Services, LCEF, a partnership with Natural Church Development (NCD), and a partnership with Consultation to Clergy (CTC). WHY CONNECT WITH A COACH?
• Find Answers To Sticky Problems: A coach helps me process creative solutions.
• Follow-Through: A coach helps me set goals and keeps me accountable.
• Prioritize: A coach helps me target the important rather than only the urgent.
• Practice Resilience: A coach helps me “laser-in” on wellness goals, develop a sabbath-focus, and strengthen my intentional time with God and my essential relationships with spouse, children, friends, and family.

LEADERSHIP COACHING FOR PASTORS AND DIRECTORS OF CHRISTIAN EDUCATION
The NOW District is committed to delivering top-tier coaching as a primary investment to help leaders do their best work. At the present time, Leadership Coaching for pastors and DCEs is offered at no cost through by the Director of Ministry Leadership who holds a PCC certification from the International Coaching Federation.

Ministry is filled with new challenges that can be opportunities to be a blessing. Initiating a coaching relationship with a credentialed coach is one specific action that can set you up for success. Your focus will be on identifying creative solutions and setting tangible action steps forward as a leader. Why should you begin a coaching relationship? Let’s start by thinking about how you currently process creative solutions. Is it effective? How do you follow through on meaningful actions? NOW leaders face a myriad of unique challenges, and a trained coach will help you work through those critical moments and “get rubber on the road.” See more details and schedule a session here.

LEADERSHIP COACHING FOR EDUCATION ADMINISTRATORS AND EARLY CHILDHOOD DIRECTORS
Leadership Coaching supports the development of leadership skills and practices, challenging you to build on strengths while addressing areas of growth opportunity. NOW District Education Executive Jim Scriven serves as Leadership Coach for any leader of educational ministries who wishes to use this opportunity. Whether you are a preschool or childcare director, an elementary or high school principal, or serving in some other administrative capacity, coaching can be an excellent tool to have in your toolbox. By entering into a coaching relationship, you will have a regularly scheduled monthly time to develop your plans for growth and improvement, determining actions you will take to move your leadership forward.

In addition to the coaching schedule, you will also have access to Scriven for consultation whenever desired. Both phone and Zoom options are available. Contact Jim and get more info about costs, etc.

COACHING FOR CHURCH LEADERS AND MINISTRIES WITH NATURAL CHURCH DEVELOPMENT (NCD)
The NCD process is rooted in both natural and Biblical principles of growth, reflecting the ways in which God nurtures and develops His creation and His church. While churches can embark on this journey independently, the guidance of a trained NCD coach is an asset.

The NCD discussion revolves around the eight quality characteristics that can be found in any healthy and growing church: empowering leadership, gift-based ministry, passionate spirituality, effective structures, inspiring worship service, holistic small groups, need-oriented evangelism, and loving relationships. These characteristics are measured in the NCD church survey. By focusing on the specific strengths and areas of improvement within each congregation, NCD empowers churches to flourish in their distinct identities and ministries. Trained NCD coaches provide invaluable guidance and support throughout the implementation process. Get more info about NCD here.

CONFLICT COACHING AND ACCESS TO MEDIATION FOR PASTORS, LEADERS, AND MINISTRIES FOCUSED ON GROWING HEALTHY (PROVIDED BY CONSULTATION TO CLERGY)
Consultation To Clergy (CTC) is an agency that has provided consultation services to pastors and congregations for more than 60 years. Initially and through all of its recent history, the agency’s Directors have been licensed mental health therapists delivering therapy to pastors when requested. In January 2022, the CTC Board moved in the direction of adding mediation services for ministries in conflict. They then called Rev. Laurin Vance as the new Director. His experience of 41 years in pastoral ministry and his being Certified as a Mediator for Washington District Courts merged the congregational conflict resolving interests of the agency with the desire for an additional service to ministries.

The agency still can provide mental health therapy for clergy, either directly or through outside sources, though most of Laurin’s time now is mediating congregations that are in conflict. His method in providing mediation is as a neutral facilitator. Click here for complete details and to contact CTC.
