South Idaho Youth Leaders Make Plans, Connections

Aug. 14-16 saw a great three days of retreat for South Idaho youth workers, volunteers, and DCEs up in the Sawtooth Mountains of Stanley, Idaho.

A total of 13 Youth and Family leaders from congregations all across South Idaho gathered to grow in relationship with each other, learn about new ways to do youth and family ministry, and to plan key dates for the year ahead.

One of the many goals of this gathering was to foster opportunities for better communication across the region so that more kids can come to know about the life-changing relationship that Jesus Christ has waiting for them. There was also plenty of time for the leaders and their families to enjoy time at the beautiful Camp Perkins. Many key dates were decided upon, including middle school and high school winter retreats at Camp Perkins in addition to other adult camp dates, and the annual South Idaho high school retreat — which is set for Nov. 10-12 at Friendship Celebration Lutheran Church in Meridian, Idaho.

If you are looking for more details on any of these events, please reach out to DCE Ryan Strehlow at rstrehlow@gracepocatello.org.

A huge thank you is extended to Camp Perkins for hosting — and especially the NOW District and LCEF for their financial commitment to help make this event possible.
